COMPANY HISTORY

American Building Components was founded in 1908 and has grown to be one of the largest manufacturers of metal roof and wall panels for residential, post frame and pole barn buildings. As a subsidiary of NCI Building Systems, ABC is afforded many benefits including national distribution, state of the art manufacturing facilities throughout the U.S. and in Mexico, as well as leveraged steel buying and a member of the largest metal building manufacturer in the industry. Other NCI companies include the leading provider of metal bulding components for roof and wall systems, MBCI, Metal Prep, a light-gauge steel coating company and Metal Depots, a retail arm for components and small building systems. NCI is publicly traded on the NYSE under the symbol NCS.

ABC has the resources through NCI to offer premium metal roofing and wall panel products. Galvalume® Steel is available as a standard substrate.  Galvalume is a coating of Zinc and Aluminum applied to the bare steel which provides a long life to the material as well improves adhesion of paint providing a product to make metal panels.  NCI is the largest purchaser of Galvalume in the world.

We are continuously testing our Standing Seam Roof systems, metal panel systems and other building components for uplift and structural integrity.  As a matter of fact, every metal panel that ABC offers carries a wind uplift classification from Underwriters Laboratories (UL).  We have metal panel solutions that can meet many of the strictest building codes all across the country.  View our UL Listing >>
